NEWARK

Clydeport's survey boat NEWARK at work surveying the river bed for the dredger W D MEDWAY II to attend to. She seemed to be concentrating on the area around Shielhdhall and the mouth of KGV dock. Good to see the river getting this much attention from a dredger. Not just this spot but upto Govan's basin and down at Rothesay dock, although only part of the dock was dredged. For whatever the reason, Lobnitz basin hasn't been dredged. Shame, as it looks as it could do with it. Also the old John Brown basin is badly silted. Clydebank's loss. That basin has great potential. By dredging it and opening up up for the town to reconnect itself to it's waterfront. A local marina and a proper berth for visiting ships. Leaving the industrial stuff along at Rothesay dock.
