Seen here this afternoon as she arrived in for Shieldhall. Passing BVT Scotstoun (Yarrows) in the driving rain. DARING alongside the Wall and DIAMOND in No.2 dry dock.

Passing the original Yarrow slipways and fitting out berth. Now used as a yard storage area.
Passing the modern Yarrows slips. Once the slipways of Blythswood Shipbuilders. They were taken over by Yarrow after the neighbouring Blythswood yard closed. Yarrows removed the hammerhead cranes and covered the slipways. Home to the Type 23's when they were being constructed and birthplace of the first Type 45 - DARING. My noisey, but nice neighbours.
A great view of the area back in the 1930's can be Seen Here. A view that looks down the length of the waterfont you've just seen. A stretch of riverside less than a half mile long. The Blythswood shipyard at the bottom, Yarrow's original yard further up and Barclay & Curle's Scotstoun West yard and dry dock at the top. A lot of the original buildings still stand strong to this day. A good few being used during the fitting out of the Type 45 Destroyers.
