Pointhouse quay & new museum

A look down towards the new Pointhouse quay and beyond. Nice to see some traffic on this stretch of the river. The small boat in the middle of the river is the old No.8 ferry, further up is the SEPA survey ship SIR JOHN MURRAY. The Tall Ship GLENLEE can be seen berthed at the east end of Yorkhill quay.

A look across to the site of the new Riverside museum. Steelwork is advancing well and the new Pointhouse quayside is looking good.

Glasgow University tower to the left and Yorkhill and Queen Mother's hospitals to the right .

GLENLEE - 1,613 grt

This 3-masted steel barque was built at Port Glasgow in 1896. Now back in Glasgow and extensively restored after being abandoned abroad. More details of her history can be Read Here. She will be moved to a new berth outside the completed Riverside museum. The current berth she sits alongside was an old berth of the Anchor Line. The mouth of the old Queens dock can be seen to the right. A similar view from the 1930's can be Seen Here.
