MINNA - inbound

FPV MINNA

The Clydebuilt Fisheries Protection Vessel MINNA heading upriver this afternoon. She is another of the bigger ships attending the 2009 River Festival. The others being POLE STAR and HMS BLYTH. Following MINNA upriver was the Clydebank bound tanker BRO GARLAND.
Dumbarton Castle over to the right and Inverclyde further downriver to the left. The land to the immediate left hand side has been developed into a nice looking golf course.

Passing Bowling harbour.

A nice sight. MINNA passing PINNAU at the Old Kilpatrick slipway

A closer look as she heads up to Prince's dock in Govan, Glasgow.

Arriving at Prince's dock 50 minutes later. Yorkhill quay looking a sorry state in the background.

Alongside the knuckle at the entrance to Prince's dock, her berth for the weekend. The tower from the former Queen's dock pumphouse can be seen in the background. The helicopter belongs to Strathclyde Police and is based at the Glasgow Heliport.

  1. In the first picture of Minna, do you know what the pier to the right of Minna (on the north shore)is?

  2. Hello, I'm sure it is the old Esso oil terminal at Bowling. Closed in the 1980's and lying in ruin.
