DAUNTLESS (D33) & DEFENDER (D36)

Today saw two Type 45's swap places at Scotstoun. DAUNTLESS (D33) came out of No.2 dry dock after a final inspection before hand over. Once she was clear of the dry dock the newly launched DEFENDER (D36) took her place. DEFENDER will stay in No.2 dry dock until the summer of 2010.

DAUNTLESS clear of the dry dock and about to be moved slightly downriver so that DEFENDER can line up with No.2 dry dock.

A busy day for Clyde Marine.

With DAUNTLESS clear DEFENDER was lined up at the entrance to No.2.

BRUISER on the bow rope as DEFENDER starts her move into dry dock.

Typical!
Two hours in the rain then the sun comes out for 5 minutes just as DAUNTLESS was being moved back upriver.

BATTLER had been on dock gate duty. After moving the gate back into place she went to assist DAUNTLESS as by this point the tide had turned and was heading out.

The dry dock gate back in place and being flooded as DAUNTLESS is moved back up to the deep water berth (the Wall).

DAUNTLESS berthed alongside DIAMOND, job done.
Nice to meet you again Brian. Hope you got that cuppa and a pat on the back. Catch you again, my email address is available on the profile page if you need it. Thanks for the tips, much appreciated.
