Scotstoun at night

Five shots of five ships that Yarrow's (BVT Scotstoun) are currently working on. They are actually working on six ships but only five can be seen for now. The quartet of Type 45's above and the two Trinidad & Tobago OPV's that were switched from the BVT Portamouth yard. Brilliant!
I have read on the BVT website that BAE has now bought out VT's share in the BVT venture. Scotstoun, Govan and Portsmouth will soon be renamed BAE Systems Surface Ships Ltd. The full article can be Read Here.
Anyway, from the left the line up is, DRAGON (D35) in No.3 dry dock, DEFENDER (D36) in No.2 dry dock, DAUNTLESS (D33) & DIAMOND (D34) alongside the Wall and the T&T OPV is up in the covered berths.

DRAGON (D35)

DEFENDER (D36)

DAUNTLESS (D33) outside,
DIAMOND (D34) inside.

This is the second of three OPV's for the Trinidad & Tobago navy. The first ship, OPV1, is being built at Portsmouth with OPV2 & OPV3 being built at Scotstoun. Scotstoun will also be fitting out both ships and both will go through their sea trials on the Clyde. More details on them over the next couple of days.
Yes, the pic is in B&W, a wee change.

  2. as you say brilliant...I only hope we will see more naval orders including an afformation of the two carriers, given the probable defense cuts which are looming
