Clyde Marine Service's tug BATTLER on her way out of Rothesay dock after assisting the tanker NORTHERN OCEAN upriver. She is based at Victoria harbour in Greenock.

WORLD TRADER - 35,345 grt

Another visit from this ex wood chips carrier. She was last here back in February this year. On her last visit she had a small coming together with the quayside at the mouth of KGV dock whilst canting. She is in at Shieldhall with a load of animal feed. More of her details can be Read Here.

Rothesay dock on Saturday evening with STEN FRIGG alongside the fuel berth. She had arrived in just after midnight on Saturday morning and departed last night. More of her details can be Read Here.

The small cruise ship LORD of the GLENS seen on staurday afternoon as she headed up to berth alongside the Science Centre in Princes dock . I'm not sure how many more cruises she will operate from the city.

Seen on Wednesday the 22nd as she headed up to Shieldhall riverside. She started to load her cargo on friday and is still alongside Shieldhall today. See next post for more on the cargo.

Offshore Workboats & Export cargo

The scene on friday afternoon at Shieldhall riverside. Offshore Workboat's TRIO and BARROW SAND had brought a barge up from the river Cart. I don't know what these objects are but I'm sure they came from Steel Engineering in Renfrew and have since been loaded onto MEDUM.

GLENLEE at night

A night view of the tall ship GLENLEE at her berth alongside Yorkhill quay. The buildings up to the left are the Queen Mothers Maternity Hospital and Yorkhill Sick Kids Hospital. The tower in the background is Glasgow University. The smaller tower to the right is were the entrance to Queens dock was. The berths at Yorkhill were once the base for the Anchor Line's services to New York and India.

Seen this evening alongside the Rothesay dock fuel berth. She was last here in February this year. You can see her bow Fire Wire hanging below her name. These wires, there is another from the stern, are left in place incase the ship has to be shifted from her berth in the event of an emergency.

Seen this evening at the No.2 berth in King George V dock. I think she is in with a load of plywood as that is what the Scotline ships usually bring in. More of her details can be Read Here.

Another visit from this bulk carrier. She was in at Shieldhall riverside discharging a part load of aggregates. She is seen here passing Yoker on her way downriver yesterday afternoon. Svitzer's AYTON CROSS and SVITZER MILFORD were escorting her out against the tide.

OPV hull block

A look over to BVT Scotstoun this afternoon and what looks like the stern block for the Trinidad & Tobago OPV. There is now an Official Statement on the BVT website. Out of the original order for three OPV's, Portsmouth will build the first and Scotstoun the second. No decision has been taken on the third. Hopefully it will be Scotstoun. The hall to the right is the covered building berths at Scotstoun.

Looking smart in the sun. She will be due out for a second sea trial within the next few months. DRAGON - D35 can be seen in No.2 dry dock.

Seen yesterday whilst in at the Rothesay dock fuel terminal. I'm sure this is her visit to Clydebank. She arrived in just after midnight last night. As I type this, Svitzers AYTON CROSS is heading upriver to assist the tanker back downriver. For those who may be interested, you can flollow her progress downriver on the ShipAIS website.
