SVITZER MILFORD seen here backing out of Rothesay dock on saturday night. She and AYTON CROSS had just escorted the tanker PEMBROKE FISHER up to Clydebank.

Seen here heading upriver on a drab saturday evening. She was heading up to the Shieldhall scrap berth. In the background is Bowling harbour and the entrance to the Forth and Clyde canal.

A few shots taken from the top of the Titan Crane in Clydebank. Below is Rothesay dock and an empty berth at the fuel terminal. Further upriver at the BVT Scotstoun yard are a pair of Type 45's alongside the Wall. Further up again and a trio of small cargo ships alongside Shieldhall.

Type 45 outfitting

A run of shots taken last week whilst on a trip downriver on Clyde Marine's CRUISER. Above is DRAGON on the outside and DAUNTLESS on the inside. DRAGON has since been moved into No.3 dry dock.

DUNCAN - D37, The first bits

DUNCAN - D37

The bow section for the final Type 45 that will be built at Govan. It will be moved onto the slipway a few days after the launch of DEFENDER - D36. This section arrived from the BVT Portsmouth yard back in November 2008.

ARKLOW RAMBLER - inbound

ARKLOW RAMBLER - 2,999 grt

Passing BVT Scotstoun yesterday afternoon. She was on her way upto Shieldhall with a cargo of dry bulk, possibly aggregates. The Type 45's are DRAGON on the outside and DAUNTLESS on the inside with DIAMOND down in No.2 dry dock.

Passing the building hall at Scorstoun were the Trinidad & Tobago OPV is be built. More parts for this order are due to arrive at the yard within the next 48 hours.


Alongside Shieldhall with the Strahlmann pair berthed further up the quayside.

These two small bulk carriers were belong to the German shipping firm Reederei Erwin Strahlmann. Both seen here yesterday whilst alongside the Shieldhall scrap berth.

Type 45 dry dock switch

DRAGON - D35

She was moved out of No.2 dry dock at Scotstoun in the early hours of friday morning. Having been moved into No.2 dry dock back in November last year she will now spend about 9 months in No.3 dry dock. Clyde Marine's BATTLER can be seen here waiting to take the dock gate out of the way.

With the gate almost clear Clyde Marine's BITER made her way up the dock to take up stern duties. BOOJUM BAY can be seen over to the right making up the Clyde Marine quartet.


BRUISER on the bow rope and almost on the move.
The shots below were taken 24 hours later as DIAMOND was being lined up for No.2 dry dock.


The early hours of saturday morning and BATTLER back on dock gate duty. DRAGON can be seen here alongside DAUNTLESS. Blue Peter stuff.

Being lined up at the entrance to No.2 dry dock, her time in No.2 dry dock will be to get her ready for her first sea trial which is due to take place within a few of months. She has spent about 9 months in No.3 dry dock being fitted out.

She waited on AASLI berthing alongside No.4 berth at KGV dock before she made her way out from the dock. She was assisted by BRUISER who was kept busy with the high winds that we had today.
